Our people have a long history of fundraising together and we’re proud to support some brilliant Yorkshire charities working to help people in our region.
Every year, our people nominate and vote for a charity that’s close to their hearts. As a result, we typically end up with seven annual branch charities – one for each of our workplaces – and our people work together to raise funds. Last year, in 2025, thanks to events, sponsored challenges, cake bakes, quizzes and much more besides, we raised over £73,000.
Employee fundraising is only part of the story. Our business also matches the funds raised by our people. For the last few years, this match funding has been used to support grant schemes in partnership with our local charitable foundation, The Two Ridings Foundation. These grant schemes support charities and groups helping people through challenges, whether it be the impact of the pandemic or, more recently, the cost-of-living crisis.
Beyond this, we find ways to donate our products, surplus food and skills of our people to support projects and charities in our local area. We’re also committed to conservation and tree planting through our Trees for Life campaign and raising funds and recycling at our Cone Exchange.
