Fast forward to today and our 1-to-1 Development Scheme is now well-established, with over 20 skilled 1-to-1 Developers who, together, can offer coaching to up to 100 people at any given time.

Our 1-to-1 Development Scheme is open to anyone who works for Bettys & Taylors, regardless of their role or the area of the business they work for. The intention behind the 1-to-1 Development Scheme has always been to help individuals carve out some quality time to reflect, explore choices and make positive changes, supported by the structure, questioning and encouragement to keep going that the 1-to-1 Developer brings to the sessions.

We believe that as long as a person has a question or a challenge about themselves that feels important to them, and if they have a willingness to work on it, that 1-to-1 Development can work for them.

Fast forward to today and our 1-to-1 Development Scheme is now well-established, with over 20 skilled 1-to-1 Developers who, together, can offer coaching to up to 100 people at any given time.

In all, 97% of people who’ve worked with a 1-to-1 Developer agreed that they’d recommend it to a friend, and 96% said that the support made a positive difference and tangible impact. While the reasons for accessing a 1-to-1 Developer are varied, some of the most popular themes include time to focus on career development, improve relationships and build personal confidence.

And it’s not just our people at Bettys & Taylors who are benefitting. Since 2021, our 1-to-1 Developers have been living into our Group purpose to make a positive difference by offering coaching to teachers thanks to a partnership with educational charity Teach First, as well as public sector and charity leaders within the Yorkshire region.
